Today marks the last leg of the Epicurious Farmers Market Tour, which has traveled to 5 cities across the country in the last few weeks. Today we’re bringing it home with a visit to NYC’s Union Square Greenmarket. The Epicurious booth will be at the market all day today (8/16), Friday (8/20) and Saturday (8/21)….plus there is a slew of fun people stopping by and goodies to be sampled (the dark chocolate they hand out is a serious daily addiction now).
Today around lunchtime several of the Epicurious editors will be stopping by the booth for a cooking demo and to share recipe ideas with market shoppers. If you miss them, you can stop by on Saturday too for a repeat performance. On Friday, chef Bill Telepan – of Telepan in NYC and a huge proponent of educating children about healthy eating and cooking with locally sourced ingredients at his resto – with join Epicurious editor Tanya Steel at the booth. They’ll whip up something delicious using whatever they find that looks best after perusing the market. Also on Friday, chef Brian Bistrong of Braeburn will stop by to hand out samples of one of his signature dishes.
Stop by and say hi if you’re in the neighborhood…plus, think of all the delicious peaches and nectarines you can buy on your lunch break for a juicy afternoon snack. Yum.
