ORIGINS- THE DUKE OF WELLINGTON

This dish is generally thought to have been created in Honor of the first Duke of Wellington, Arthur Wellesley, and the Battle of Waterloo on June 18 1815.

Duke Wellington was bestowed his title for defeating Napoleon Bonaparte in battle.

What better way to celebrate such an important victory and iconic figure then with fancy

The Beef Wellington compares well to the French filet de boeuf en croute and may be connected to the true origins of the Beef Wellington after the Battle of Waterloo.
